
Lynn McAlister UE earned a history degree from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and spent fifteen years working in reference at a public library, where she specialized in genealogy and local history research. She has more than twenty-five years’ experience in genealogy, completed the Boston University Certificate in Genealogical Research in 2022, and hopes to pursue the Strathclyde University MSc in Genealogy beginning in 2026.
Lynn is currently Membership Chair for the Sir Guy Carleton branch of the United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada and secretary for the Canada Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists. For many years she has served as historian for the Scottish Clan Alasdair (the MacAlisters).
She lives in Ontario with her husband, their adult son, and a German Shepherd dog called Fozzie.
